Hey everyone, its Kate here (finally!) thought I'd give Sara a day off.
Thanks all for the messages, we love hearing from you....we just hope we're not boring you too much yet!
Well last time we wrote on here we was in Railay Bay and it had been pretty much raining the whole time we were there. So we was limited as to what we could do. So, with of our mom's and dad's best interests at heart we thought we would learn some Thai cooking! It was good fun actually , learnt a lot of Thai dishes so we're willing to demonstrate what we have learnt when we come home!...unfortunately health insurance is not included!! We ended up having a really great time on Railay, found an awesome bar and we both ended up singing on stage after we'd had a few Chang's...they begged Sara to do it again the next night, although the never asked me for some reason!! Intimidated obviously.
We left Railay Bay and headed for Koh Lanta, another small island off Krabi. It was an extremely quiet and hardly any other tourists so didn't stay there too long, just chilled out and try to top up the tan. Although I did have a slightly nasty fall (no I wasn't pissed!) and managed to sustain a grazed arm and leg. Nurse Watts bandaged me up good and proper...which actually come as a great conversation starter once we arrived on Phi Phi Island, which is where we are now. After another not so pleasant boat trip we arrived here about a week ago. Its quite similar to Koh Samui as its pretty touristy although the beaches are heaven! In fact, we actually went to where 'The Beach' was filmed the other day, which was completely surreal. Phi Phi is made up of 2 islands, Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. You cant stay on Phi Phi Leh so we did a day trip. We went to monkey bay where there were lots of wild monkeys running about, trying to nab anything off you they could eat. Then we went cliff jumping and snorkelling before heading to 'The Beach', which is actually called Maya Bay. We completey bottled the cliff jumping!! It wasnt high only 8 meters, but it was the climb up...completely steep and slippy with no harness, we were pretty much bricking it. And with the thought of my little accident in mind combined with knowing how clumsy I am, we thought it could end in disaster, so we gave it a miss. Much to the relief of our parents!!
We're going to be leaving Phi Phi tomorrow and head to our final destination of Thailand, Phuket :-( I'm pretty excited to go because I wanna go elephant trekking, which Sara will also be pleased to do as it'll stop me banging on about it! We're flying out of Phuket on Wednesday morning to Bali, 3 nights there then off to Oz!! We're expecting to finally see a decent amount of sun, as most of you will probably be browner than we are by the time we get back...after hearing how nice its been at home :-(
Anyway, sorry to rabble on, Sara is uploading some pictures later so you can all have a gander at our pastey english bodies!!! Haha. Sawaddikah for now!
Lots of love Kate and Sara xxxxx
