So From Rach's we left and headed across to Te Anau. Here we booked our Milford Sound cruise!
We woke up early the following day and began the two hour drive to Milford. On the way we stopped to see the mirror lakes and the Chasm, which we both very pretty.
Once we arrived at Milford we parked the CC (Camper car) and walked round to get ready to board the boat!
The boat was like a small cruise ship for old people! Lots of older people who sat inside and played cards! Which seemed quite funny at the time as the view outside was really pretty! The boat trip lasted for around two hours, which was a little long, but we saw some beautiful waterfalls and stunning scenery.
After our little cruise, which drove on for about an hour and found a place to camp up for the night, The sun set behind mountains and it was a clear night, the sky was full of stars! It was also bloody freezing! ha!
On we drove, towards Queenstown! We both really liked Queenstown and had a lovely couple of days just chilling out togeher and wandering the town! Kate bumped into some friends she used to work with in Fakenham a long long time ago! That was a bit random, its a very small world! We also met a lovely couple, who gave us loads of info on India! Which will come in handy!
We then travelled up, passing Lake Wanaka, which was pretty and up to the Fox Glacier. This was cool, but not quite as breathtaking as the Glacier we saw in Patagonia, it was still very good though. I know i sound very ungrateful, i don't mean to i promise, think i was just spoilt in South America!!
We camped that night at Lake Matherson, which was so pretty. We had the view of snow covered MT Cook and MT Tasman, and amazing stars at night, once again. Here we woke up really early to walk and get the best view of the mountains at sunrise, infront of the reflections lakes! We also treated ourselves to a very delicious fry up!! ha!
Off we went again, to see the Franz Joesph Glacier, which was bigger than the Fox. In the pictures it just looks like a big dirty rock, but it is actually a glacier! It was a good walk to get close and quite interesting as signs informed us how much the Glacier has melted backwards over the years.
On again and up to Pancake rocks, which were ok, not overly exciting but still cool to see, and now we are in Abel Tasman, which is beautiful, a tiny place on the coast and Jon has persuaded me to Kayak in the Morning! So wish me luck! ha!
Hope you are all good? We are missing you all lots!
Lots of love
