Hello There!

Well we have arrived in Auckland after a very long flight and an embarrassing encounter with the customs man and after a good nights sleep we decided to walk for about five hours (after stopping to look at guitars and used cars). We walked to the top of mount eden (a volcanic cone) which has panoramic views of the city and beyond. The weather was lovely and sunny this morning, however it typically became overcast as soon as we had struggled up the very photogenic summit, we have attached the photos. Auckland is a beautiful and friendy city (apart from a very horrible bus driver) and we have made to feel very welcome.

The apartment is lovely and although small, has plenty of space for the first few nights and is very clean and comfortable and even has a dishwasher!!!! We have just shortened our stay here as we are going to and see Shirley and Ian (Alan's family friends) and explore the Northland area for a bit longer.
