K+K Travel Adventures
We finally made it Lucerne after battling like six hours of traffic and the longest tunnel in the world....woooow. We were finally greeted with a hotel that didn't swelter, have cockroaches or bedbugs, and it had SHEETS!!! In bliss with our accomidations we headed out to see how we could spend our free night in Lucerne. What did we find??? A FOAM (Schaum) party at a club called Mad Wallstreet. Lonne, Zahf, Kirsten, me, and Zahf's friends, Simon and Tal, all headed out to this foam party that would gaurantee a good night.
After admissions were paid we went through a few shots of jeiger and eventually purchased a liter of Margarita (BRAINFREEZE) and a liter of Long Island Ice Tea.....trust me all this was necessary before entering the six foot wall of foam below us....
We braced ourselves and headed in only to be burried by foam and stuck in eight inches of water....I struggled to find air but lasted...only to see that many couples were attempting to, well, you know, in this thickening foam that seemed never to end.
After all was said and done, we partied more and headed to a restaurant for the best pizza, fries, and curry mustard that I have ever had!!!!
The next morning we awoke for more rain and our gondola ride up Mt. Pilatus. Although there wasn't much to see as clouds present, the ride was still an adventure. You could hear the cows ringing their cowbells, see the clouds and all of a sudden see the moutain two feet in front of you!!! Struggling through the cold we headed inside for some hot chocolate and coffee with schnapps...delicious! After making our way down we headed to Lucerne, via public bus, and made our way to a swiss army store and watch dealer. I made my purchases, checked my bank account balance (only to just about choke) and we headed to find lunch with Christy, Lonne, and Kirsten. Prices were too expensive everywhere else so we headed to Starbucks for some hot sandwiches and chai, which I haven't savored for well over a month. We gossipped a little and made our way over to a boat cruise of Lake Lucerne.
The view was beautiful and the drinks cheap, but this was probably $11 I could have saved by sleeping or enjoying more of Lucerne. Alas, it was still nice to spend time with all those in our group and begin the countdown to departure altogether....boohoo.
We headed home and prepared for dinner which would consist of Fondue and live Swiss entertainment (if you are curious--don't be, I think I would rather watch an hour long speech by Bush....zzz.zzzzz.zz....z) After we were full, we intended to meet others to head to the Loft for some prime time clubbing, but after mixed messages and sleep exhaustion, Lonne and I (and the rest) headed back to our hotel for some King's Cup.
Now, let me just say, when you are tired, so tired that you are falling asleep at dinner, and already buzzed off of wine, it is probably wise to go to bed--instead I chose to play a few rounds Kings Cup. Rules were made purposely against me which led to me finishing up an entire bottle of vodka. Rhyming was difficult as was paying attention and the next thing I know I am having a conversation about faith and God on a balcony with my number one favorite person, Slyvia. The rest of night is a blur....I may have gone home to bed. I may have not. All I know is the alarm clock went off at 6 am signalling my time to get on the bus and head to Paris!!!
