Well hello!!! My turn again, and as Kat said, the picture has no relevance to where we are now...well there's a vague relevance....but anywayI think last we left you in Phnom Penh, since then we've taken a bus and hopped over the border to Vietnam and on our merry way to Ho Chi Minh city. The first thing that struck us here was the sheer amount of motorbikes and mopeds there were... i am not exaggerating when i say thousands and thousands all beeping there horns and trying desperately to shove past each other, absolute mayhem!!!We got off the bus and found ourselves a nice little street which was obviously quite backpacker friendly and found a nice hostel with a biiiiiiiig room which was pretty good. So we dumped our bags and went out to find our bearings. HCM was surprising, it had a nice park to walk through and we visited the palace and had a wander round there for a bit, until finally going back and crashing out.The next days we took a day trip to the Mekong Delta, which was like nothing I've ever done before... When we got there we are taken out to the island by boat and taken along the coast, first to visit the coconut candy factory and to enjoy some herbal tea...i say enjoy very loosely :p the next stop we got to have a light lunch, then were taken by horse and cart to inside the village to hear some traditional Vietnamese music... not the best music we've ever heard in our lives but was good to get a bit of culture!! Oh and while we were there Me and G held a python, which was great fun...:S!! Finally we were taken along the back waters by the locals in their slow boats and back to our boat. Was all in all a very cultural experience i feel!!The day after we went to the Cu Chi tunnels, again with a tour and tour guide, and that was really interesting.... it was a bit more in the heart of the jungle and we were shown all the lovely traps that made for the Americans, which were ingenious it has to be said! and we got taken through the tunnels which are absolutely tiny.... i mean it was a walk in the park for me so i just waltzed on through, Gareth on the other hand found it a lot more challenging..... see it pays to be small!!! We also went onto visit the war museum which is honestly like nothing ive ever seen or been to before... the museum basically consists of tanks and planes used in the war and then just hundreds and hundreds of photographs, worst of all are the pictures of the victims, some quite literally in bits and some of Agent Orange victims etc.... It was really upsetting but was definately worth while! That night we booked an internal flight for a really good price and within a matter of hours we had made it to Hoi An which is where we are now... The hostel we were taken to was $22....except for the fact they put us in the suite for $40, so the next morning we packed up and promptly found another hostel which is much more in the heart of town, and we all absolutely love it here.... The shops are amazing, just loads of tailor shops and market stalls and art stores, and you just need to walk down the road and you're beside the river. We have already taken full advantage of the shops and are goin in a couple of hours to be fitted with our new dresses and suits which we are havin made for us :D very exciting.... im not sure about the plans for today but i think some hardcore shopping is on the cards. Then tomorrow we're goin to trek it down to the beach.... ah its a hard life!!!Hope all is well back home, hugs and kisses from me, Kat and Vietnamxxx
