Can you believe it? I spent my day in London! LONDON! Since my first episode of Doctor Who at age 10 I have dreamed of exploring London and all it has to offer. The social and cultural mecca that I dreamed about for so long and I have finally met and it did not disappoint.
The London tower bridge, probably the most notorious sight when I think of England took my breath away. Even in the midst of clouds and an early morning, my heart absolutely skipped a beat when I saw it in person. The London eye, a slightly more terrifying tourist attraction also had a certain beauty, although there is NO way I am getting into a tiny booth and going into the sky.
Let's talk for a moment about Big Ben clock tower. Have you ever been in love? If you have, think of the first minute that you started to fall in love and then you know exactly how I felt when I got to take a selfie with Big Ben. IN LOVE.
After visiting Parliament, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham palace the Arkansas group and Tierra and Amy all left to go visit another castle. That left me and Jenny to explore the city, so what do we do? Grab some chicken nuggets and go shopping. I visited my favorite European store Topshop, that I had only ever been able to order online. Not only was it 6 floors, there was a restaurant, tattoo parlor, and personal shopper station. All inside the store! Oxford Circus is a circle area of stores that have to be the most impressive size and quality, so we spent the majority of our time there.
After both groups rejoined, we went out for (in my opinion), the first real London meal of the trip. That's right, fish and chips! It was bizarre to get fish with an actual tail served to me, but once I gave it a chance the flavor was truly amazing. We went to a pub to see some live music, and while the band was sub-par at best, I don't know when I'll have another opportunity to see a true English rock band with my closest friends!
