Australia Zoo - Home of the Crocodile Hunter
Today mum, dad, Brendon and I took a day trip to Australia Zoo. This is the most famous Zoo in Australia and is home to the late Steve Irwin.
We arrived about 10am. I then had a horrible panic as my mobile phone had fallen out my pocket on the bus so that ruined my arrival to this amazing place. But soon after I'd calmed down we went to explore the zoo.
We went to the Crocuseum to watch one of there daily shows. It was quite amazing. It started off with the elephants coming in, then some snakes and small reptiles. They were bringing them up through the crowd (shudder). Next it was the bird show and they had different birds just flying around the arena over us and inbetween us. Finally the main event - a Saltwater Croc and men with meat for him. The made him jump out the water to get the meat and then they just sat there on the floor next to the croc!
Wandered around the zoo some more seeing a whole range of different animals. We had lunch and then headed to the Elephant and Tiger sections. The tigers were great. They were jumping around and chasing in water. You caould actually get quite close to them (with a large perspex glass inbetween). Then at the elephant section were 3 Indian elephants and you got to feed them. It was really wierd being face to face with this enormous animal...
Time to go and was just in time as the heavens opened and the rain came!!!
