Happiness Is The Road
We were rudely awaken at half seven by the sound of a loud vehicle which seemed to pull up right outside our camper. The engine was on for ages and we half expected someone to come knocking on the camper door. The engine was eventually turned off but there were other noises. We looked outside and found that one of the caravan parks own staff was on the plot opposite with a long hose and spraying the hedges. The hose was connected to a sinister looking red tank on the back of his noisy truck. It would appear that he was spraying the hedges with chemicals at half past seven! What were these chemicals? Surely they can't have been any good for us to breathe in. I opened the camper door and stepped out. He had the audacity to say good morning after waking us up and spraying chemicals when we were about to have breakfast! We didn't want toxins with our breakfast. I remonstrated with him and basically told him that it was unacceptable to wake us up at half seven when we were on holiday and trying to relax. He just said that they start work and half seven and carried on what he was doing. We have left a bad review for them on Trip Advisor now and hope they take notice. If this work needs to be done fine but just leave it till later on in the day when people are up and had breakfast. We shall see if they send us any comments back. We showered and then left the site. We decided that we'd have breakfast elsewhere chemical free. We drove in the direction of Tenterfield where we were aiming for the night and after about half an hour we saw a lay by and stopped there for brekky. We had a nice leisurely breakfast and just chilled out here for a while before hitting the road again. The scenery inland wasn't tropical looking like the coast. The scenery now was very green and the trees were beginning to look very autumnal in colour. Tenterfield was a lovely old town and we found the caravan park no problem. It was a lovely quirky site and we just chilled out here for the rest of the day. The view we had from the site of the autumn colours was fantastic.
