Ok! Where to begin?! To fill you in, Becky and I made our way north from: Singapore; in to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; to Cameron Highlands; to the Perhentian Islands (stayed on Pulau Kecil); to Krabi, Thailand; to Koh Lanta; to Koh Phi Phi; to Tonsai Beach; to Koh Phangan for the Full Moon party...
A lot of silly things happened in Koh Phangan, so the night before the Full Moon party, we left.
We came to see if we could work through everything that happened in the previous week. We hit the usual tourist hot spots -Â Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha, Wat Pho etc. (Photos will come...) and of course the bars.
We stayed in a budget guest house on Koh San Rd - Bangkok's mecca for tourists! This area of town does not sleep. 8am all the cafes pump out Love Ballads for breakfast dining, followed by Reggae for lunch, and Dance and Hip Hop etc. all through the night. In retrospect, perhaps a quieter location would have been better suited!Â
Unfortunately we decided it would be best if we went our seperate ways. This was one of the hardest things I have had to do. There is a massive void in my life for the first time.
I met a good friend called Rob, who helped me out a lot in Koh Phangan. We had a few beers and walks together, as he was faced with a similar situation in Australia a month ago. It was good to get his take and perspective on things. It won't surprise you at all when I say I spent a lot of time talking to my friends and my family in particluar. 8-10,000 miles away, and they made sure I felt like they were here with me. Its one of the best feelings in the world!
So I decided to leave. I didn't see very many of the sites outside of the Bhanglamphu area, but I'll be back in about 6 weeks, for my flight to Melbourne. Having been in India for several weeks, bring on the 12 hour bus ride to Chiang Mai....
