We had two nights in Singapore,finding it very humid this time. One night in Dubai in the dry heat then a flight less than half full to Geneva. We were able to stretch out & enjoy the amazing scenery over the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Croatian Coast,Venice & the Alps flying into Geneva.
The flight itself allows you to imagine what is going on in the lives of the people living in these vastly different lands & given the view was clear & we flew quite low the imagination was colourful!

We chatted to an Australian lady living in Geneva at the airport & she said the weather here always feels much warmer than the temperature says. It was a beautiful day yesterday & today also.
We stayed in Geneva last night & had a look around the old city & lake side yesterday. We were a little disappointed as it didn't look like the Switzerland we had seen at Interlaken in 2000. Geneva is very French although a little shabby.

The hotel (very small as is usual for all things French) was apparently in the area where the prostitutes hang out at night. Our room was fine however John noticed a smell of 'dope' in the bathroom which was coming through the vent so interesting place.!

Caught the train to Montreux at the end of Lake Geneva this am, scenery superb from train, snow covered mountains on one side of the Lake & mansions with vineyards on the other side. As we arrived in Montreux we were in awe of the views & even more so when we got to the hotel & from our balcony looked out on the promenade below lined with spring flowers, the lake without a ripple & the snow capped mountains over the lake which looks an arms reach away. Warm enough to get some colour also.
Spent the day wandering & just trying to comprehend the views. If you plan to travel put this place on your list!
