Today we were up early and packed for our road trip up to Mayon Skyline Viewing Platform. At 8:30am Susy the other Couchsurfer met us and we made our long way up the mountain. We passed small villages and also there was an 80km marathon on which made for interesting sites - black Kenyans, crazy Jeepney drivers and wild animals running about the place. We made it to the top and had a look around the old deserted hotel and then up to the platform. The views were beautiful, the air crisp and almost complete silence - it surely is true the closer to the heavens the more in touch with ourselfs we become. We then made our way down to Tabaco for a quick lunch before making our way to one of Julie's friends farms. We adventured through the jungle and came to a farm where two boys climbed the coconut trees and collected the most delicious young coconuts - we drank the coconut water and ate the soft flesh of the coconut all whilst sitting in the jungle. What a great day with great people and it was really special to have Julie's Dad join us.
In the evening I helped make dinner and cooked my famous ratatouille.
