Nelson 1st - 5th October Our journey to Nelson was pretty uneventful and only broken up by a spot of wine tasting and a bite to eat at one of the region's many wineries.  Nelson has the unfortunate label - New Zealand's sunniest city, and you guessed it.... it rained pretty well every day we were there!  We were staying with David and Margaret who were friends of Phil's Grandparents.  They made excellent hosts and we had a very homely and relaxing stay with them.  They even had 3 dogs for us to give lots of attention to!  We toured around the city and the local sites over a couple of days and finally when the weather improved we got to spend a couple of days walking around the scenic Abel Tasman National Park.
