Jus and Phil's Travels
Christchurch27th - 29th SeptemberPhew! Sorry for the long delay, we've been non-stop! We started our 5 week Kiwi adventure in Christchurch, the most English city outside of the UK. One of the first things we did was visit the Antarctic Centre, the main attraction (for Jus) being the penguin rehabilitation centre, with its paralysed and blind inmates - ultra cute all the same! We also experienced a simulated Antarctic storm, as well as getting a free ride on the all terrain Haggland, across an assault course! On our 2nd day we thought we'd save some money by walking uphill for an hour, instead of paying $20 for a 2 minute gondola ride. It was well worth it, for the awesome 360 views at the summit, plus we rode the gondola down for free - as they don't check your ticket! Christchurch has some lovely botanical gardens, which we walked around for a whole afternoon. The Antarctic Festival that weekend also gave the centre a great atmosphere around Cathedral Square.
