Day 30 Pago Pago, American Samoa
But it's pronounced Pango Pango. It's said that when the discoverers of the island came to put it on the map, they didn't have an 'n' on the typeset so they named it Pago Pago!
We had a great taxi driver who wore a Somoan skirt! He took us all the way along the east coast of the island and then dropped us off at Tisa's Barefoot Bar on the beach. We ordered the local beer, and then had an hour relaxing in the ocean, which was about 28 degrees.
Before we re-boarded Aurora, we stopped at the local market and shopping area, the natives of Pago Pago are so friendly, everyone waves at you and stops for you to cross the road!
Although it's Tuesday Feb 5, we'll wake up tomorrow and it will be Thursday Feb 7 because we cross the international date line! How weird is that.Good job we're not celebrating anything on the 6th! At the moment we're 11 hours behind London but when we wake we will be 13 hours ahead!!!!
We're about to have another wonderful sail away party on deck so see you in Tonga, Western Samoa
