Hi everyone, I'm back!!!!
Landed into LHR at 06h20 this morning. The flight was hideous with lots of turbulence which scared me - I hate those long flights.
I couldn't sleep either - I think it was the excitement of knowing I would be seeing my mum and dad waiting for me in arrivals!
I got my bag off the carousel and felt sick - oh my goodness, it had just hit me that my trip was over. I was going back out there into the real world!
I walked through the doors and immediatley saw my mum and dad. What a fab sight! My mum was holding a "welcome home Julie" sign and a balloon and dad was taking photos. I realised just how much I had missed them and after all their efforts on my arrival home, how much they must have missed me! Lots of hugs and kisses all round!
Finally got home to my mum and dad's house after taking a detour past my sister's office!
Dad cooked me a good English fry up and after lots more hugs I was in bed ready to catch up on some sleep (and heat magazine!)
Later that evening we went to Elaine's for dinner. At my request we had a yummy thai curry - thanks Lainey! Gave out all my holiday pressies - Ozzie cork hats for everyone so we wore them whilst we ate our dinner. Yep, it was great to home back to my wonderful if slightly mad family!!
So, that's the end of my trip.
I have LOVED every minute of it and will have memories that will last me a lifetime.
I have had far too many amazing moments to pick one as a favourite. After sky diving, white water rafting, Uluru, sailing around the Whitsundays, Elephant treking, canyon swinging, crazy tuk tuk rides in Bangkok, lazing on the beach in Koh Samui and snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef - who could?!
I even enjoyed the real backpacker side of my trip such as the sleeping in dorms and eating Maggi noodles (I'll miss the beef flavour that tasted of chicken!)
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and I want to thank you all for your messages, texts, emails and phone calls - it felt like you were all there with me along the way.
Here's to the next adventure!
