Left Koh Samui on Friday for the boat ride to Koh Phangan which takes about 40 mins. The boat was crammed packed of backpackers. My week in Koh Samui had felt like a holiday and now I was back amongst the backpackers but not really feeling like one! Everyone seemed to be talking about how many buckets of whisky and coke they had downed that night. Hmm, maybe my nights out were a bit tame!
Got to the hotel - it doesn't exactly look like it does on the net. I'm in a hotel rather than a bungalow. Oh well, it's all very clean and nice and I have a pc in the room so can blog to my hearts content whilst sitting in my undies!!!
For some reason (and this is totally unlike me!) I felt really sleepy so I actually slept for most of Friday. I'm staying in Had Rin which is the sunset side and manged to wake up in time to watch the lovely orange sun go down.
Saturday, I took a walk into the town. It's about 10-15 mins and I deffo will not be doing that walk at night. There are no lights and the roads are not made up properly. Koh Phangan is not as developed as Samui. The town is tiny and mostly made up of bars and restaurants. Found a way back to the hotel via the beach which only took 5 mins -excellent.
It's a nightmare getting a sunlounger around here. People put their towels on them and then go back to bed. Flippin tourists! This resort also charges 100bht a day for other people to use the loungers. This is the only hotel along the strip of beach that seems to have a pool.
Still, nothing has got in my way from frying in the sun all weekend! I feel so relaxed at the moment, even the fact the hotel has played the westlife cd on a loop since Saturday has not even bothered me! They did find another CD today - it was John Lennon. Quite amusing to hear the one that goes "so this is christmas......!" Found myself singing along!
Anyway, this may be my last blog until I get home. I have another busy day ahead tomorrow of sunbathing, sleeping and eating in preparation for the mother of all parties - the full moon party! For those of you who don't know, it's a massive beach party here in Had Rin. They expect about 3000 or more people all going crazy on the beach. I don't know what time it starts but it can go on until 10am Wednesday morning. I'm up for a bit of that - will let you know how it goes!!
In 2 more days I will be home but for 2 more days I am still on holiday - hurrah!
