Oh dear, I have been a bit slack haven't I - no posts since Saturday! Well, I've been having so much fun I haven't had the time.
Right, where was I - so, Sunday I woke up to another fry up (am wondering why the button on my trousers doesn't do up anymore - any ideas?!) then took a wander into the city. Went up the sky tower (the tallest point in Sydney) and took some snaps.
Nadia, Loynes and Kade (now known as NLK because it's too much to type!) moved into their new house today. I popped over for dinner in the evening. The house is fantastic and in a fab area - right near the train & ferry that takes you into the city and the best part - 2 mins away from the restaurants and deli's - mmm, yummy food!
Monday I decided to headad to Bondi. Made myself a packed lunch. It had turned a bit cold by the time I got to Bondi but I was determined to eat my lunch on the beach! It was fun to people watch and still there were loads of people surfing- crazy fools!
Tuesday was my trip to the Blue Mountains. It was brilliant and I would reccommend it to anyone. The trip started around 8.30 (that's early for me) We got picked up by coach in the city - had a great driver called Jim who gave us a tour around the city then off to the mountains. On the way there we stopped at a wildlife park. Excellent, just what I was looking forward to - a cuddle with a koala. No such luck - they are greedy little b*****s and just sat there chomping away. Once i'd made it through the crowds of Japanese tourists I managed to get a pic of me and the ugliest koala I have ever seen! Seriously - look at the photos!!Â
Then there was a walk through the wild kangaroo enclousure. Surely they can't just be roaming around? Yep, they certainly were and coming straight for me. Those things sure can move. I sprinted out of there only to stop for one quick photo!
Back on the bus and next stop lunch. Lunch was included in the price and was actually very nice. Lots of pasta, salad, chicken etc... At least I think it was chicken - you never know around these ozzies - they eat anything, kangaroo, possum.....!
Finally made it into the blue moutains and the views were spectacular. They are called the blue moutains because of the amount of eucalyptus trees in the bush. The leaves let off an oily mist which appears blue. See, learn something new everyday!
Whilst at the blue moutains, we had a trip on a sky walk which went right above the forest. It was essentially a cable car but had a glass bottom - not for the faint hearted! Next was a train which has the steepest incline in the world. Had a walk around the forest and then back on the bus.
A few more stops on the way home included a huge chunk of chocolate cake in a town called Leura, a waterfall, the sydney olympic stadium and then a river cruise back into the city. It was a great day.
Today I hit the shops! Found 2 new favourite shops which are like new look and primark. Got a few new bits so will be sending my old crummy clothes home.
Walked around to Darling Harbour and then to the Botanical gardens. There's nothing better than having the sun on your face and doing a bit of people watching whilst eating a huge ice cream - Bliss!
Moved into my new abode this evening - N, L &K are my new roomies and have offered to put me up (or put up with me!!) until I leave on Sunday.Â
Not sure what to do tomorrow - mmm, maybe more shopping, sightseeing, lazing on a beach or something more active...........
