Well I am back in Chile again!!! My last day in Salta was brilliant and a perfect way to say goodbye to Argentina. I took a tour to Humahuaca and there were 4 of us with a guide who was so enthusiatic about Salta. We visited several villages with markets and saw the 7 coloured mountains which were incredible. I ate llama for lunch (felt very guilty afterwards) which was actually not that bad although it did not have a lot of flavour. Went walking through the cacti in the desert which was probably not sensible in havianas as they are not cactus proof! In one village there was a boy of about 4 who read us a poem. I thought it was beautiful without understanding it and once it was translated for me it was about his heart and love, and I got pretty choked up.

The following morning at 7am (!) I left Salta and got a bus to San Pedro De Atacama in Chile. Sat next to a girl called Emma on the bus and we chatted for the entire 8 and a half hour journey. We arrived at San Pedro De Atacama at around 4 and spent the next few hours trying to get money out (as there was no money in the entire town) and looking for tours to Bolivia, but were unsuccessful with both! Met up with Valerie, a friend from Spanish school in Buenos Aires, and had dinner before a very early night as it had been a very long day.

Today has been exhausting but great. Got rudely awakened early this morning by a very loud snorer on the bunk above (did I mention I love hostels!) and so we got up and went looking for cash which we eventually found. Booked our 3 day tour to Uyuni for tomorrow and had a look around the town which is tiny but so cute. In the afternoon we went on a tour to the Valle de la Luna (valley of the moon). The Atacama desert is breathtaking and I have to keep pinching myself that I am actually here. We went through the desert stopping at 'Death Valley' and then went to the Valle de la Luna to watch the sunset. Had to hike up a mountain but the views were worth it as the mountains had turned red. We are off to Bolivia tomorrow for a 3 day trip to Uyuni and I am so excited as it is going to be AMAZING!!!! xx
