Day 4: a tough day, after a nice ride to Monmouth there were lots of unexpected hills. 3 days of lactic acid build up in the legs and the pedals were hard to turn. 3 big hills to finish,and an hour of rain so I was sodden! Lucy & family(Ormiston) cheered me on - a great boost!

Day 3: a long day from Devon, through Somerset and over the old Severn Crossing to end in Wales @ Chepstow - over 84 miles. Wind on the crossing was nothing compared to negotiating the artics around Avonmouth. Wrenched my previously broken finger - hope it's ok tommorrow. Phew!

Day 2: A long climb up over Dartmoor - but sunny, great views and new foals and mums was our prize. Still hard steep climbs and fast scary downhills. Last 15 miles I was on empty and a road block put a stop to progress 2 miles from the B&B; that's been made up by wrong turns!

Arrived in Penzance yesterday by train and walked the 2 minutes to the hotel where I met 11 fellow riders, one joins us today and another in 7 days time - he is starting where he fell off last year breaking his collar bone! Our last day - we are all sad to leave but know we will be back. The final task was to collect the camera traps and view them over a coffee at the pub at the entrance to the camp before heading off to Johannesburg. Sadly no leopards but good photos of zebra and an Impala running on Kim and Ionna's and oryx, baboons and a mellors mongoose and young plus lots of jeeps on ours!
