Today was a travel day - we were up by 6.30 and went down for breakfast at 7am but they didn't start serving until 7.30 so I sorted out some emails and John brought the luggage down so we were ready to leave at 8 am. After a long day yesterday we were allowed a lie in so did not get up until 7am - we didn't open the curtains so we would not be jealous if we missed a glorious sun rise. Today we had a slightly later start - up at 0430 - as we were going to photograph sunrise from around the hotel. The light was not as good as yesterday so we stopped at 0630 which gave us time for a rest and breakfast before heading out for a walk at 0930 up over a ridge with great views and where condors often fly. Up at 4am - it's a hazard of travelling at this time of year as the sun rises at 5.10 and sets at 10pm ish - and it's still light at 11pm. We set off at 0430 in the minibus to a location about 10 minutes from the hotel where we got some amazing photographs experimenting with the light.
