Great flight to Victoria Falls. It was noticeably warm and balmy as we got off the plane and walked to the international arrivals. We joined a shortish queue to get our visa - $55 each, then collected our luggage and found the Wilderness driver. 15/20 minutes later we were at the hotel- the Victoria Falls hotel - a great reminder of the colonial past.
Our room was facing the falls and we had great views of the gardens, the warthogs who frequented the lawns and the clouds of spray coming from the falls.....brilliant.
We unpacked - I went to the pool and after braving the initial cold shock of the water did 50 lengths in a nice pool. John decided to stay in the room and do some hand washing ( it helped him feel at home!!)
We then decided that tradition required us to have high tea, on the Stanley terrace, with views of the bridge over the Zambezi. Sandwiches, scones and cake made for a lovely tea - good value to @$30 for 2. We were so replete we did not need dinner.
An early ish night - lovely comfortable bed and a really nice hotel.
