Our last day dawned but as our flight was not until 1750 we had a whole morning to see the bush and didn't even have to think about packing until after lunch as we didn't leave until 1445. The day started with our normal trip across the river; the early morning light on the white fronted beeater colonies (today's picture) was lovely. The drive today was particularly quiet - no elephant or giraffe - no lion but had they walked through and sent everything diving for cover? Today's wake up call was a person knocking on the door but the regime was the same - knock at 5.30 and breakfast at 5.45am. While lying in bed I could hear the elephants sloshing through the water and returning to the park having eaten near the village - hopefully not damaging any crops. As I put my boot on to go to breakfast I thought I had left some paper or a sock in it - but a quick hand in revealed a large, but soft, frog who had hopped in over night......I quickly found it a new home outside! Today we moved to another Robin Pope camp - Ebony Grove - for one nights rustic camping on the banks of the Luangwa.
