Today was a travelling day - the weather was very atrocious it rained and rained and didn't stop until mid afternoon by which time we had driven to Nanaimo, caught the 13.15 ferry to Tswassen and almost arrived at the other side. We arrived at 1515 and it was finally dry. On the crossing, it was very windy but the boat was very stable. As the rain started to clear there was a fantastic almost horizontal rainbow on the sea ahead of us...I tried to photograph it but by the time I got outside it had passed its best.
We drove to the airport and handed the car back, luckily there was a petrol station on the airport which allowed us to fill up before handing over the keys. Our total mileage was 1328km (@830miles) - not bad- the car was very comfortable, quite economic and the petrol prices lower than the UK. We would do it again.
We then caught the airport bus to the Delta Vancouver hotel where we were spending the night before flying to Bella Coola tomorrow.
Today's picture is a bald eagle from yesterday's fantastic trip to Bute Inlet - we saw it as we left the inlet.
