As we prepared to leave the Rocky Mountain RV Park and say goodbye to Yellowstone an elk walked in front of our campsite and said goodbye. Well what an amazing time we have had for the past 2 full days in Yellowstone National Park. We were out on the road by 8:30 am and not back until 7:00 pm putting in 10 ½ hours sightseeing days. We put 640 km on the truck. If someone was to ask about what to see and do here it would be so hard to name only one thing as this is an area of great contrasts. First take the weather. Today was a day of driving through Wyoming. It was a State of varying geographic formations from plains, to red soil buttes to mountains. And yes there is snow on the mountains still. We saw hundreds of pronghorns - some even in groups of 12 or more. We camped for "free" at Cabela's in Billings, Montana athough we did spend $160 in the store! For the last two days we have been touring around the Black Hills of South Dakota. There truly is tons to see and do here. Yesterday, Friday, we went on one of the most crazy roads I have ever been on. Thank God we did not have the trailer with us. It is called the Needles Highway and it runs through Custer State Park.
