Hoi An is famous for tailoring, there were hundreds of shops. J wanted to get a suit tailored so when we arrived the hotel recommended a tailors in town. We went straight away as only having 2 nights in Hoi An was not that long. When we arrived at Kimmys we were all given computers with thousands of different styles on. J chose a really nice Hugo Boss styled suit and Darius chose a coat. The boys got measured up, chose the material, lining etc… and arranged the fitting for the following day at 10am.
Finally we had luck with the weather, it was sunny and really hot so we headed to the beach for a sleep to recover from the night bus. We hired sun lounges for the afternoon and all managed to fall asleep easily, getting a little but burnt! When we woke up we all got chatted in to buying bracelets from a seller on the beach. Buy we were happy with them. In the evening we tried to find a restaurant that someone in the hotel had mentioned did big portions. Darius and Toby do not get filled up on Vietnamese portions, but we unfortunately couldn't find it. Instead we headed to the old town to get dinner. It was really pretty with lanterns everywhere and the roads were nice and calm, a massive contrast to the cities. There was a night market but like most others we have been too in Asia it sold the same stuff so we didn't stay long.
The boys fitting the next day went really well. J's suit fitted really nicely. Ha marked a few alterations on the shoulders and the shirt but it looked really smart. It is amazing how quickly they make them and the quality of them. J chose a silk cashmere grey suit with a shirt. Darius's coat also looked really good and the boys arranged another fitting for 2pm. We then again went to the beach to fill the time in between fittings. After seeing J's suit Darius started to think he also wanted a suit. At the next fitting he asked if it was possible to get one made but before 7am the next day as that was when we had booked our bus to Hanoi. Crazily the tailor said that it would be possible so both Toby and Darius got measured up for a suit. J's second fitting was perfect so we arranged to pick up the suit later in the afternoon. We then headed in to town, to see the Japanese Bridge and old quarter. It was a very pretty town and by far the nicest place we had been in Vietnam. Darius and Toby went back for fittings s couple of times in the evening and finally picked up their suits at 10pm, both were really happy with it.
