We arrived in the morning from a horrible night bus. We had a drunk man sitting behind us who wanted to keep everyone awake! At Gilligans hostel we were told that we couldn't check in until 1pm, this wasnt the best news we had. We were both starving so we took a wonder around and come across a McDonalds...perfect place to brighten up anybodys day. After we went back to the hostel and chilled in the tv lounge area. Thankfully the tennis was on so we watched that and kept dozing off. Finally we were able to check in, our room typically consisted of alot of Irish people who we ended up having a few nights out with, but not for the first night, all we were good for was a shower and some sleep. It didn't take us long to get an experience of what Gilligans was all about...the loud music and base from the speakers literally vibrating through our beds was enough to keep anybody awake, fortunatly we were that tired it didnt take us long to nod off.

The next day we were thinking about booking a tour to Cape Tribulation, but the trip was offering us similar things that we had already seen (crocodiles, gorges etc). So we didn't actually end up doing anything in Cairns as such apart from partying! That day we arranged with a few people including Laura and Robbie from our Whitsundays trip and Sam from Fraser and Castaway that we would do the bar crawl. For $30 it included entry to 5 bars and 6 free drinks, an offer which is hard to refuse. We went to get sushi, a new favourite of ours introduced to us by Dan in surfers before starting to pre drink with our room mates and headed out. We arrived back at the hostels nightclub and partied till the early hours! We typically went to McDonalds again after the night out amusingly to find Will and Gary soo drunk! They were posing with the bouncer and trying to do headstands. As we were walking home it started to rain reallt hard so we all ran home trying not to slip! The boys were so funny speaking to everyone we came across as Borat. When we reached Gilligans the music was still going on as it shuts at 5am but we decided to head straight to bed!

Nobody woke early the next day and it wasnt till around 4pm we started seeing everybody. The hangover was huge! Nethertheless there was still talk of getting on it once again that night. We tried to talk ourselves out of it saying we had our flight tomorrow, quickly to be halted by the others saying 'common its your last night'! So there we were at 6pm after a nice steak and chips to cure the previous nights hangover, drinking jugs from the bar. Freddie had arrived in Cairns during the day and met the rest of us in Gilligans, sneakily using Will's identity so he didn't have to pay. After a good night we headed to McDonalds again where J got another meal, he is now starting to feel sick with the amoun tof McDonalds he has had, especially after his binge in Airlie Beach too! Healthy eating from now on in Asia! Can't wait!!
