Qantas first opened in Winton in 1920
and held its first board meeting at the Winton Club on 10th February 1921. This town is also the birth place of Waltzing Matilda it was first performed at Sheep Station not from the town by the great Banjo Paterson (the man from snowy river fame ) in 1895
