In the morning we got a min-van with 6 other people to Vang Vieng. It took about 5.5hrs because the road had to bend and wind round mountains... so the views were amazing! When we arrived we found an amazing bar which had hammocks in bamboo huts with views of the river and the mountains beyond... we got comfortable and watched the sunset whilst listening to chillout music!

A fairly non-event day.... nice weather tho!

In the morning we caught a slow boat to the Pak Ou caves, which were very touristy and busy. Then in the afternoon we got a minibus to the Kuang Si waterfall which was fantastic! The colour of the water was amazing, apparently this is beacause of the limestone rocks. In the evening we went to a few bars, and as everything shuts at about 11pm in Luang Prabang we ended up at a bowling alley, as it was the only place open past 12pm!

There is a french influence in Laos, so its easy to buy baguettes and nice cakes, so we had bannana cake for breakfast which was gorgeous! Luang Prabang is right next to the river, and really chilled out. During the day we looked around the market and explored the town. In the evening we watched the sunset over the Mekong from one of the temples on the hill.

Another early start in order to get a good seat on the boat, that is until we saw the boat and realised that there where no good seats! The seats were wooden benches although for the first two hrs of the journey we made seats out of the 50 (ish) sacks of corn that we shared the boat with, which were actually really comfortable! The other 7hrs weren't so comfortable, but the fantastic views of Laos made up for this!
