After hearing more weather reports about the wet weather further north and it not forecast to end, with the possibility of even another cyclone I decided not to go any further North and head over to Perth for a change of scenery and hopefully weather. The cheapest way forme to do this would be to fly from Brisbane. So with a very tearful goodbye to Katie who was still heading up North to Cairns I got back on the greyhound and headed south to Brisbane. 20 hours on a coach didn't seem so appealing so a stopover in Hervey Bay broke up the trip. Back in Brisbane the weather was clearer which was good to see and nice to be settled for a bit too. Having been here before I spent more of the 5 days around the botanical gardens, southbank beach and swimming pools and visiting the various galleries around Brisbane. I had friends who have settled in Brisbane for work and were staying just up the road so I spent a lot of time catching up with them which was great. I'd also met a few aussies at the hostel previously with Australia Day around and so they took me out a few days to show me around some of the outer areas of Brisbane which was really nice. I flew to Perth on the 24th where I was met by Chris who I knew from the East Coast and who is now staying in Perth which meant free accommodation...for the next few days at least anyway :D
