Lets Go Truckin!
Phew, its finally hot here, and we're having a day off after a huge walk yesterday to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. This is a 17 mile walk normally, and in the summer they have cables on posts with steps to help you up the last few hundred nearly vertical feet to the top, 4,800ft above the valley floor. However, it not being 'summer' yet they just have the cables hanging down the cliff face. Its the kind of thing where you get there and think, thats just crazy, and then do it anyway. Well I got half way up, but there was no way I was going any further, though the views Josh got from the top look like it was worth the effort.
The valley is gorgeous, but crowded. Now the weekend is over we have decided to stay on an extra day and go on a rock climbing course, so expect some more photos of us hanging precariously off rocks...
Only a week left now - to cruise down the Californian coast - Santa Cruz, Big Sur then LA await before we fly out to Fiji (21st June)
See ya,
Lou n Josh
