After leaving New Zeland on the 5th on January, I arrived in Nadi, Fiji late afternoon and was disappointed to see it was hammering it down with rain. This only lasted a couple of days, and since I left the mainland and began my island hopping, the weather has been absolutely perfect.
The first island I visited was Beachcomber. Although it was expensive I'd say that it was worth every cent as I had so much fun and the island lived up to it's 'party island' reputation. Good music, exotci alcohol and amazing food made for a great couple of nights. The island itself is so small that you can walk around it in about 5 minutes.
After burning to a crisp on Beachcomber, I took possibly the most hungover boat journey I've ever taken in my life to a bigger island called Mana. It was a good laugh but a lot more chilled than Beachcomber. I stayed here for 4 nights before heading off to my current location, Bounty Island. This is the island where they filmed Celebrity Love Island, that TV show that had an audience of about zero people.
Fiji truly lives up to it's postcard reputation. White beaches, clear blue water, friendly locals and perfect weather. Really do feel I'm in paradise when I'm laying by the pool here. Bounty Island in particular has to be the most idyllic place I've been in my life.
Unfortunately I'm only here for a few more days, then I'm off to the cheap and cheerful land of Thai, just in time for a half moon party on the 31st, then a full moon party on the 8th February.
Hope everyone had a great New Years and despite how much I'm enjoying my travels, I really look forward to seeing you all soon! x
