Arrived in Oruru today after 3 hour bus journey from La Paz. We thought it would be a good idea to go out until 4am last night, and that we could sleep on the bus. We were wrong! As with most buses I've been on in Central and South America, there is the usual rush of locals on to the bus at every stop to try and sell you something....sweets, lucky charms, chicken served by hand, dirty hand. Some are accompanied by a long speach. On top of that we had a screaming child behind us! The great scenery of the Bolivian Altiplano made up for it though. Oruru seems in middle of nowhere. Not a great place. Looking forward to travelling on tomorrow to Uyuni where we will book a trip to see the world's largest salt flats. More soon, Jo xx
