Very busy, very smelly and very smoggy. Where only here for 20 hours, but managed to get in about 5 agruments about money and eat a rubbish meal. Will have to go back at some point as we leave from here to Kalkutta and I guess see some of the sights :-(

Hello, all. After leaving Shimla we decided we wanted more mountain action, so took a bus for a whopping 10 hours to Manali. Manali was amazing, if a little cold - snow capped mountains everywhere we looked. We arrived in Shimla after another mammoth journey, starting with a train ride where 2 army guys befriended us and made Jon drink rum with them. This made the ride quite interesting, as the two men had drunk an entire bottle before we even left the station, then proceeded to talk at us in a hindi/ english mix and take our photos, before passing out for a few hours! The journey all got a bit much when we were confronted by two awful musicians, a "female"...

Only stayed here for 1 night, which was a shame in the end as the city looks rather interesting. We arrived at about 15:00 off the bus and got greeted by the gaggle of rickshaw drivers. One of which stood out and we decided to take a look at the hotel he was offering us. Turned out to be a good idea as the hotel was lovely, massive room, quite clean and a rather fancy bed. We arrived in Udaipur after yet another night on a train, neither looking nor smelling very nice. We immediately found a rickshaw driver who was full of jokes and bought us a cup of chai which gave us a huge sugar rush. We then found a lovely room with stained glass looking out over the lake (we were only marginally jealous of the people staying in the 5star Lake Palace hotel in the middle of the lake).
