Jono's Travels
Bumpy, best way to describe my flight to Abu Dhabi, there wasn't really many spots when it wasn't bumpy on the flight at all, although I didn't really pay any attention to it until I was being served my dinner and my drink started jumping all about and spilling all over my food and myself, thankfully a picked up the cup before it got too bad, but it did mean I had to drink it all before I could put it down again. 14 and a half hours of travel by plane normally isn't that great, but I found he time past quiet quickly, it certainly helped being able to sleep on the plane for a bit, falling asleep about 6 times watching the same movie and having to keep going back to watch what I had missed, I think that must have made the 1:30 hour movie take about 4 hours. The plane is a little delayed landing today, by about 20 minutes, that's stressing me out a little as it leaves only about an hour before my next flight leaves, that's including passing through security. I've also just found they want every device that runs on battery powered up too, that'll teach me for carrying so many battery powered devices, good thing they are all charged up. As we flew into Abu Dhabi airport we flew over a new subdivison, it appears from above that the entire area is probably larger than Rangiora, roads complete, zebra crossings and all, yet no housing whatsoever is there. After disembarking it was to the security gates where I had to remove all electronics, belt, watch and anything else in my pockets, the guy said "ohh, a lot of gadgets", I couldn't help but laugh when I noticed the security guy who was suppose to monitoring the X-ray machine was just chatting away to one of the other security guys as the bags just passed though the X-ray machine. It would have made no difference if I had just left it all in my bag as he paid no attention whatsoever. From there is was a scramble though the airport to find my gate which had already started boarding, this is where they then wanted to check all my devices powered on, after being asked "Are you carrying any electronics" I was "Yeap, heaps" and proceeded to pull them all out and power them up, 6 devices later and a quick chat about how long Id been flying for today it was off to board the plane. A very nice plane indeed, while not completely full, some lady a seat behind me didn't like her spot so got up and moved to an empty seat, only to be moved by the staff due to her sitting in someone's seat, it was only a matter of a few seconds and she was up again grabbing another seat and buckling herself in again, and once again, asked to move back to her seat, simple rule lady, wait until the plane is full boarded before moving seats, it's not a Saturday morning at the movies. One last flight before I reach The UK, 8 hours or so and I'll finally be there. I don't think it's really hit me yet that I'm about to start 2 months of travelling, I guess it'll hit eventually me at some stage.
