Good morning and hello everyone! I should just start by saying LIVERPOOL - Champions of Europe! Sounds good doesn't it? Ok. I guess it depends on your point of view but what a match, what a night (or morning as it is here in Oz). This morning i got up at the crack of dawn (actually a good couple of hours before at 4.15am) to watch the match at the house of someonw working in the hostel i have been stayiung at in Byron Bay. This place is areally laid back surfer town in the North of New South Wales. I have been here a couple of days since leaving Sydney and staying a wonderful place called the Arts Factory. They have a live music, arts shows, didgereedo lessons and more. The weather here is warm and the beaches beautiful, which makes a nice change from Sydney. I was in Sydney a week and the weather generally sucked. It wasn't cold but it did rain a lot. Still i managed a trip out to bondi on Saturday during a rare sunny spell. Its not a large beach but the breaks are quite good so there were hundreds of surfers waiting to catch a wave. Australia and Sydney in particular is full of fitness fanatics and wherever you go there are people jogging along to the sound of their MP3 players, trying to get into shape for the beach -and its only autumn now! Sydney is a cosmopolitan business town full of high rises, museums and commercial developments - i preferred Melbourne as it has more culture and a better feel to the streets but Sydney still rocks, Saturday night at the Chinese Laundry is nor to be missed! (a club night - not a place to wash your clothes). For a day away from the city i took a trip to the blue mountains. They are blue because of the Eucalyptus in the air, and the view from the main town of Katoomba is one of a mini grand canyon - only covered by trees. I'll put up some photos when i get a chance.
