Having tourist conviences everywhere around you has usually been useful and comfortable in the past. With Laos being the least developed of the SEA countries, the capital tends to be functioning as a working city. It became more difficult than usual to find guest houses, restaurants and bars, the city is used as a transition city to connect to places.
We stayed for 1 night, during the day we met up with our friend Tom ...again. The three of us visited a few temples and found a riverside timber bar to waste the rest of the day at.
I was given a recommendation from a friend I met in a bar (Ross Thomas) of a place to stay in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
Tom left for Bangkok, unknowing of the current trouble in the city until 1 hour before his bus! We had a night sleeper bus to Pakse, southern Laos.
