Day 107 (Friday 2nd February 2007)

With Jay's step-mum being an evil b****, we had to look for alternative accommodation for the night. We got onto the internet and searched for places to stay in Surfers, deciding that we'd meet Jay and have a big night out down there.

We picked Jay up later that afternoon and headed to the Couple O' Days Backpackers Hostel (www.coupleodays.com.au), where we'd reserved an $85 triple room for the night. This hole was pretty disgusting, but it was within walking distance of the nightlife. We plugged in the 'i-bass', banned Marc from putting Rolf Harris or Jimmy Nail on, began having a few drinks and got ourselves ready.

By now Marc was already yawning, so the news that he probably wouldn't get in anywhere in flip flops and three-quarter-length trousers hardly upset him. We shuffled our way down to Kitty O'Shea's Irish bar where we had a couple of drinks, before surprise, surprise, Marc (deciding not even to bother trying to get in anywhere) went back for bed.

Sarah and Jay continued and had a really good night, raising the roof at the popular clubs of 'Shooters' and 'The Bedroom'.
