Sarah's travels
Day 147 (Wednesday 14th March 2007)
- The last of our long driving days today! Had brekkie early and caught Ferry back to the mainland.
- Said goodbye to Becky and Michelle as they finished the tour here.
- Everyone was a bit sleepy on the bus but Tomoka, who was sat next to me, was a bit more tired than most. She tumbled straight out of her chair and into the isle, frightening poor Luke half to death as he woke up to find her hurtling towards him!
- It was one of those situations where you feel akward laughing but just cant help it and I had the giggles big time! The more i tried not to laugh the worse it made me and I was crying for about an hour after! haha! Still makes me chuckle now!
- We stopped over at Townsville for lunch and I found a Subway! A foot long melt and 3 cookies later I felt more than full!
- We finally arrived in Cairns at around 5 and went for a quick dip in the pool. It was then back to our rooms to get ready for a night out and a few pre drinks!
- We headed out for dinner already feeling a little bit tipsy, me and Sonia shared a massive pizza and a bottle of champagne! Interestig mixture!
- Nick took us over to PJ O'Briens and got the party started by buying us all shots and got us on the dance floor with our 'Day Tune'!
- We pretty much took over the bar and danced all night, even dancing on the bar at one stage!
- We had a wicked night and eventually headed back to our hotel where me, Emma and Cynthia sat up talking for the rest of the night.
Day 148 (Thursday 15th March 2007)
- Woke up just in time for mine and Mel's trip to Cape Tribulation. Mel really did only just make it and she didn't even go out lastnight!
- Had the most awesome day! Started out with the most beautiful drive to the Daintree. I think it was much more scenic than the Great Ocean Road, but is apparantly voted second to it.
- We arrived and took a cruise down the Daintree River. Which is infested with Croc's. It's not supposed to be good time of year to see Croc's but we saw them! A couple of babies and then a huge mother of a Croc came swimming up to our boat with it's mouth wide open! Scary!
- We then drove through the Daintree, stopping at lakes, creeks, and did a rainforest walk where i ate the end of a sugar ant. Not somthing im going to be trying again in a hurry!
- We stopped for a BBQ steak and a swim at a gorgeous lake. Swimming was great until I spotted some monster eels and made a quick exit!
- Next we moved up to Cape Tribulation, spotted a male cassawari with some chicks on the way, again supposed to be very rare for this time of year.
- We stopped at a look out over the Alexandra Ranges which was breathe taking!
- after a bit of time at Cape Tribulation beach and the Mossmon Gorge it was clear that everything up here is just stunning. It is such a beautiful place.
- In the evening me, mel, jess and alicia hit the night markets. It was like being back in Asia with every store selling the same cheap crap.
- We went for dinner to the best chinese takeaway ever! Apart from the one at home of course! Mum, when I get home I would like my first meal to be Crispy chicken in cantonese sauce from the takeaway please!
- We then stopped at an american icecream shop, Dippin dots! i thought it was a bit odd at first beacause all the ice cream was in little dots! But it was the nicest ice cream! Really is the ice cream of the future!
- We sat in there making complete t*** of ourselves as usual before going back to the hotel and playing stupid games!
