Hi both!! Great to read all about your trip to China and the funny Chinglish too. Very envious, would love to do a trip on Yangtze and as for the Great Wall .....Just re read Matt's book on China - he really loved it too. He took pictures of the funny signs translated in the hostels etc. The following was his favourite from the dry cleaners in Xi'an - "doing laundry the beard knows: dropping the color clothes should seperate to wash. If would not like to seperate,the worlds of clothes dying. We are all irresponsible.10 RMB a load!!!!" Looking forward to reading more and more - where to next by the way?

Alli wants to thank you for all your prayers and good wishes. She is so glad it's over but slow days now until full recovery. Pascal is amazing holding down the fort in Horsham. She had a lovely evening with your Mum on Tuesday - making her watch Holby City with her!

Joseph is growing fast and rolls around. He is currently watching In the Night Garden! Mum and Dad are in London celebrating her birthday early by going to The Sound of Music..

I wrote the following into a Chinese translator (on the internet I mean...I didn't actually give a Chinese linguist a tattoo or anything):

'Hi guys, lovely words and pictures from the East. Glad you're having a good time.'

Which translates to:
餵人、
可愛的詞和圖片從東部。 高興您有一一味尋歡作樂。

Which, if translated back into English, comes out as follows:

Feeds the human,
the lovable word and the picture from the eastern part. Happy you have one seek pleasure constantly.

Loving the photos! As well as one of those funny hats you are bring me back may i have terracota warrior and a panda please, the pandas looked sooo cute! The lake you went boating on looks like that place we go in Arundel with Dad, are you sure you are not there and just pasting the chinese people in? It has been raining hard all day here and I have just done the tesco shoppingand some washing!! Im not jealous or anything :-)

catching up wi you from Gary's, Dave is down too so we've been out for scoff - Thai, in Guildford. Now back at G&D's new pad (top of a mountain) and quaffing 18yo glenlivet - very tasty.

All well here, Dave has done a great job decorating the new house, open fires, big rooms, great views, really nice home.
