So after 2 flights I finally arrive in cairns panicking as id watched then put the luggage on the plane and didn't see my bag... luckily sure enough it appears on the carosell. While waiting for my transfer to arrive I get chatting to a couple of women who are also backpacking however they must of been in there 50s apparently they went travelling when they were my age and basically havent stopped and don't intend to... its alright for some! Anyway back to me... travelling to the hostels I get the familar feeling I had when i arrived in Zanzibar, a mix of nerves and excitement. This next phase of my trip will be very different to the previous things ive done, this is i suppose the traditional travelling.

Im staying at a place called tropic days Backpackers, its a little out of the way compared to other places but it seems really nice! Photos will follow shortly.

Cairns is different to what i expected, i sort of expected it to be very beachy but its quite the oposite from what ive seen so far (granted isnt a lot) its surrounded by mountain ranges all forest covered.

Im am absolutly knackered after saying yesterday i should be ok i will probably sleep on the plane... not a bit! Even though on both flights i had 3 seats to myself!

So alls going well at the moment, hopefully it will continue that way... with added pressure coming up in a couple of days im sure its going to become challenging... will explain about that later in the week!
