So from the scenery of Airlie i travelled for 20 hours by bus to Brisbane. So thought it was about time i did a blog. So since the last blog i have travelled to Airlie Beach, further south of Townsville. Having been highly recommended it by numerous people, both friends and fellow travellers i had high hopes for Airlie. I wasnt disapointed! The place is stunning. Very relaxing and more scenery that i can shake a stick at (never quite understood that phrase) This is the first place i have arrived where i have no further booked plans...

So left cairns at stupid oclock this morning to travel to Townsville, a smallish town further south. Caught the bus at 9:45 didnt arrive until 2:15 so not a short bus ride. The bus journey itself was fine though tiring, i always seem to start to fall asleep on buses. The bus arrived in townsville 1/2 hr late so i missed the free hostel shuttle bus not a massive problem but didnt have a clue where the hostel was or how to get there! So the last few days have been pretty amazing! Friday was spent on Green Island, a tropical island about an hour ferry ride from Cairns. It was absoultly fantastic! I had the option to go either on a glass bottom boat or snorkel, i chose the boat option and it was really good. We saw lots of wildlife inc a Giant clam just as it caught a fish for lunch! Not something you see everyday! The rest of the day was spent sunbathing and lounging in the sea. Quite sunburn...

My time in cairns is definitely going to quickly, it's already my third day nearly gone! So yesterday I spent the day looking around the town of cairns and the lagoon area. As cairns doesn't have a beach as such, they have built a pool and general chill out area, it's a very nice spot to sit, swim or sunbathe, could easily spent a day in the area!
