Saturday - We left Byron early on Saturdy morning and arrived in Surfers Paradise. We were taken to our accommodation and from there we quickly made our way to the beach and the centre of town. After staying in some sleepy villages it was nice to be back in a busy town with an impressive skyline. Surfers has an amazing beach and would probably be a great place to hit some bars...however we were far too tired.

Sunday - Left surfers and arrived in Brisbane which again is very modern and has huge skyscrapers. We wandered to the Southbank where we browsed through the Sunday markets and sat in cafes. We ate at a Mexican restaurant...which was much nicer than any kangaroo burger! Tomorrow we are off to Steve Urwin's Australia zoo. On Tuesday we shall be exploring the Koala Sanctuary where Maria will finally meet the Koala bear of her dreams.
