Unfortunately, there will be no pictures to show today since the computers in this cafe don't have USB ports. Alex and I successfully met up this morning in Bangkok. We got to sit next to eachother on the quick flight to Chennai, which was nice.
There were no customs when we arrived in India; we just had to walk through some ancient scanning device that was literally made of wood. We got a pre-paid taxi ride to our hotel, which was definitely a good thing since the ride was real long and real windy (there would be no way to tell if we were getting screwed on a fare based ride).
Hopefully there aren't too many typos here, these keys are REALLY hard to push.
I used to think that the best rollercoaster rides were taxis in Italy, but these Indian taxis put the Italian drivers to shame. The ride to our hotel was by far the best cab ride I have ever had.
It's pretty hot and humid here, but after a few tries, we found an inexpensive, clean, and cool place to stay. Chennai is a pretty dirty city, so Alex and I will most likely move south to Pondi tomorrow via bus or train for a cool $1.
Dinner tonight should be pretty delicious, filling, and high-rollin' at about a buck ten. We are going to walk a little ways to get out food tonight so we a see a bit of the city at the same time.
Alight... I think we are about to take off now; so, I will post again shortly (hopefully with pictures).
