Queen Mary's itinerary brought us back to Wellington and Auckland, New Zealand before our six days at sea to Guam.
In Wellington and Auckland we felt more like locals this time and had more time to do the things we hadn't on our earlier journey. The weather was very good for us, beautiful sunny and fresh days perfect for running around the city.
Queen Mary arrived in Wellington and berthed right beside the New Zealand All Blacks Rugby Stadium and from our room we could see right inside. We had a pamper morning, manicures, pedicures and haircuts before heading up the cliff side by cable car to explore the botanical gardens in more detail. After a little shopping, a quick taxi ride took us to Mount Victoria, the highest viewing point in Wellington for our photo stop. The beach was calling and we walked along the headland for a great spot. We headed back to the ship for our sailaway party our next stop Auckland.
In Auckland we took the ferry over to Devonport, Stuart was missing his Lamingtons (cake covered in strawberry and coconut) then we headed back to Auckland for a treat for JB, to MOTAT, the Museum of Transport and Technology. We rode the trams and explored the old fashioned village scene, the workshop manager gave us a behind the scenes tour when he realised how interested we were. After a quick change at the ship, Auckland nightlife called us! We headed to K'Rd to find the bars and clubs, but Monday night is a quieter night out in Auckland but we still had a great time.
Queen Mary's horn sounded at 12 midnight and we bid our farewell to New Zealand our onward journey to Guam and the Far East.
With six days at sea before we reach Guam, we will have time to explore Queen Mary and experience all the wonderful things on board. New blog next week from Guam, at least the internet on the Queen Mary is so much faster than the QE and QV.
