Out of the 332 Fiji islands, 110 are inhabited and our arrival today was at Port Denarau the gateway to the largest island Viti Levu. Port Denarau is a purpose built tourist port, made on a mangrove swamp, it's full of five star hotels, golf courses and restaurants.
The garden of the sleeping giant and polynesian show was our trip for today. Our guide was Samu and wore a lavalavas just like Stuart. The orchid gardens were originally designed by Raymond Burr in 1977 and are set below two huge mountains, which from a distance look like two giants laid on their backs. The gardens were very tropical and the polynesian "go go" boys were good to watch. On our way back to Nadi town we stopped at the Shiva hindu temple, the largest temple in the South Pacific. A little shopping followed and another lavalavas was added to the collection.
Back at Port Denarau we had lunch, sausage rolls and meat pies, Fiji style, yum yum! After a quick trip on the Bula Bus around the resort, "bula" means hello in Fijian, it was time to get back to the tender for our journey back to the ship, closely missing the thunder and lightning.
Our Hawaiian deck party was moved indoors after the storm above the ship, but it didn't stop Stuart dressing for the occasion. It's champagne afternoon tea on Monday for Valentines Day. Smoosh Smoosh x x

Lucy What I wouldn't give for a champagne afternoon tea! Just as well though, as I managed to put on 10lb in weight on that first leg of your cruise and I have just finished a boxing work out that nearly killed me. Enjoy! xxx
