Hi guys!!! Not sure if I got the sum right??? A few glasses of wine and I can't add anymore!!
I haven't sent a message in a while, but still following your progress and wondering if you missing home yet???? Nearly time to get here. The UK pics look great and I am sure you had a good time meeting with family. Pity about the Iceland thing. But it is a good thing it happened now - imagine this kind of thing extending your trip just a little bit longer?? I wouldn't mind - you have travelled so far - may as well fit Russia in while you there?? Okay jokes aside, I am looking forward to your return - so hurry on 28 May!!
Lots of love

Hi there
it was so nice to see you and get to meet The Beast!!! it all become real when we saw that vehicle.
Marina, I hope you are feeling better and cold gone and you have been able to rest and relax a bit.
It is strange here today as we have no planes going over, as all the airspace has been shut down. What a weird thing to happen.
Take care, and thanks for posting our pic. Even managed to get Shuggie and Maisie in!!!! Love Jxxxxx

Got your message and you really do deserve some time for yourselves -- we wish to say thank you over and over for the FANTASTIC blogs and photos you have sent to all of us and the obvious time you took to research information that was SO interesting. Les and I have literally lived your adventure - every mile of the way and we will now suffer from the withdrawal symptoms bravely. See you , I guess, when we see you !!! Take care and thanks AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like you're having great fun - as usual. Take care and enjoy - don't know what you are doing chasing the bad weather. Here in Cyprus the sun is pouring out of the spring sky and we are in t-shirts and sandals.
Sad thing is that by the time you get home, you will have some more winter weather! Boo-hoo!
Love the photographs and reading the blog - such dedication to keep it all up.
Blessings, Maria & Donald.

You are really living the fullest of lives -- and Nice looks very very nice !!! The beast also looked good in the latest photo and I guess it's because he is so happy with better roads and no more punctures. Please take good care of him after all he took care of you two brave lunatic adventurers throughout Africa. Good luck with the remainder of your trip and if they want to charge the beast double for the channel crossing because of his weight just threaten them in Sotho - that should do it !! We are awaiting and looking forward to your next instalment and more photo's of you know who !! sshhhh.....

Loved the pic of the couple on the motor bike, is that to inspire you to try that next or just to show how pleased you are to have so much space in your 4x4?
Carry on enjoying it, looks fantastic, lots of stories to be told I am sure.

Hi guys. The photos are awesome. Monte Carlo/Nice certainly look beautiful. I wish for you the weather was a bit better. John I think Danny would have loved driving around that "race track" with you. Sounds like you enjoyed it. Will have to do that together one day - but in the summer!
Enjoy the weekend and just take your time enjoying as much as you can - the return trip will be here sooner than you know - so take care and savour every moment (especially the food and the wine!!)
Lots of love

Congrats and a happy anniversary to you guys. We are not sure how many years it is at this stage, but certainly it is about time you both thought about a family and Marina needs to lose her figure and get a nice round "tum tum" !! Really fantastic blog and brilliant photos of Italy so nostalgic for many of us !! We are leaving in the morning for "Johannesburg to Drakensberg and slightly beyond" but taking laptop with us so we don't miss next instalment from "Italy and beyond."xxx

Hi guys
Great to see that you're having a good time in Italy. Congrats on all the big days (birthday, anniversary etc). We are MOST happy that you stopped in Positano. This is a favourite of Denis since reading a travel story in std 8 at school (1978!). Backpacking through Europe in 1989, it was one of only 2 MUST do's on his list (the other was Olu Deniz, Turkey). You mention that you may be back. Brush up the Afrikaans, and read the short story "Die Swaeltjies van Positano" by author Elisabeth Eybers, if it can be found. It tells the story of the Swallows that return to this town, from Africa, every year, to the watchful eye of the statue of Mary on the hill there. It is indeed a place of many returns. We too, will be back!
