What wonderful postings and photos and beard! makes me feel my age to see my 'little' brother with a GREY beard!!
Seriously, you seem to be having a wonderful time, both revisiting some places and experiencing many new places. Looks like the meticulous planning was well worth it. The Beast is awesome, not to mention the tent on top.
In UK we are experiencing a warmish November, with roses, nasturtiums etc still prolific in the garden. Sadly many places, including Keswick are flooded.
We are following your every move (well, the ones we know about, anyway). Go safe.
With our love and prayers,

All of a sudden mountain biking the back wood trails of darkest Hampshire don't seem to be a challenge anymore, and should you decide your return to S A is going to be a similar adventure will you take passengers? - I am green with envy but not sure if courageous enough.
Let me know your rough E T A England as we would love to meet up somewhere and hear the stories first hand. You would also be more than welcome to stay over on your way up north or before your ferry on the return.
We hope the rest of your trip is as brilliant and look forward to the updates it cheers up the gloomy English weather.

You know, I would prefer if you did not go into so much detail! I am sitting here in a wet and miserable Jhb with the outside temperature at 15 degrees. The Sprinboks have lost three in a row, Bafana haven't scored a goal in 6 hours of Football, the interest rates have not gone down again and it looks like Portugal will qualify for the world cup....my life sucks..... and it is made worse by having to read that yours is so awesome!

That's quite a beard you have grown John!! I wonder how it's going to look in another 6 months!!

OMG you are so brave and we are so envious of you (though I really would be far too scared to take on such a venture in such a country!). Lots of love, Karen xxxx

Hello John and Marina - Thank you for the armchair travelling experience I am receiving from your reflections and facts. Your Etosha experience had me remembering happy memories of my own and my heart is very much out there with you both in the bush. Its a lovely site and a wonderful thing you are doing and we have a poet to complement Marina's journalistic skills as well - what more could one want. Lots of love and safe-travelling messages from me to you. Di

Words fail us! You are doing bloody marvelously. Have you approached any publishers/agents for the book that will inevitably come out of this? I don't know how you do this, but judging on historical hindsight, we should have expected this miraculous journey! Donald still remembers that itinerary that you put together for him and John, Marina - the one where you told them how many yards it was to the next left turn ... inside the terminal building! And that without ever having been there yourself. Hmm...
Have a wonderful journey - I can see great benefit emerging at the end of all this. Psychically speaking!
Lots of love and may your road have few rocks and holes!
