Today Janine and I went our separate ways...no more travel buddy L I get on the ferry for Ko Pha-Ngan to meet Grah and Rach. We get a long-tail round the other side of the island in search of a waterfall and a rock which the King had scribed into (sounds like one of Dad's missions!). Trekking up hill in blistering heat and worn out flip flops is not recommended. We lose all signs for the rock, but keep going (uphill) regardless, until, like a sign from God directions appear. Finding the writing was a different matter...hidden by a Monk's retreat and prayer house were some dodgy man-made steps leading to more boulders and stream. As we stumbled over the rocks (in fear of standing on the writing and highly offending all Thai's) I finally spotted it...RELIEF!! The waterfalls were less than exciting with very little water!Beach party -really cool atmosphere and lots of flame throwers, only this time with a skipping rope!!! Not being one to miss out on the fun, obviously I had a go...very scarey, but managed it ok! A bucket later I convinced Rach it was a god idea for us to skip double!?As Rach skipped I counted my run-in...she caught her ankle, I tried to stop but instead stacked it (c'est la vie style!), falling face first into the sand and flaming rope, with us both now stuck on the rope and momentarily on fire...all good fun!!! With my spirits not dampened I thought I'd try my luck at Drinking Darts...assuming that girls can't throw they moved the throwing line forwards for me (I failed to inform them of my Netballing skills!) I scored 2bulls-eyes, winning a bucket and a cocktail for the team! The following day saw a day at the beach to chill and read. Cooling down in the sea wasn't the most pleasurable experience as invisible fish clearly found it amusing to bite and sting you whilst you lazed in the water...little b*****s! Lots of Olympic watching done (shocking relays!)
