Woo Hoo, I've arrived in New Zealand!
Met up with my tour group in Christchurch on Thursday. Everyone seems really nice and we're all getting on very well. We spent the first day travelling down to Franz Josef so stopped off at some stunning view points along the way.
Friday we did a full day guided walk into the Franz Josef glacier it was absolutely breathtaking in every sense!! Our guide did some amazing work carving out steps and setting up ropes to assist us with our trek up and over the waves of the glacier and in and out the crevaces and caves!! I think we were all extremely proud of ourselves as it was really challenging. My friend Donna and I treated ourselves to a trip to the hot springs afterwards - well deserved luxury!!
Yesterday we made our way down the West coast, again stopping at some amazing beauty spots. The weather wasn't the best though so it unfortunately put a stop to my skydive!! (just kidding, I decided I didn't want to make the jump, but a few of the other guys were all worked up to do it so it was a pity it was cancelled!) We had a great meal and karaoke at our camp site for the night and I think a few people had one or two glasses of wine too many!!)
Today we have arrived in Queenstown, the extreme sport capital of New Zealand so I think the skydives will be rescheduled. I on the other hand will be pampering myself in the spa, possibly manicure and pedicure so looking forward to that. I've had a stroll around the town this afternoon and it is pretty stunning! Queenstown park is beautiful. Just heading along to meet some of the guys for dinner then going to the cinema so that should be fun!
Will let you know if I change my mind on the skydive or bungee, this is definitely the place if I'm going to do it!!
