South Island tour was fabulous!
- Highlights were Queenstown breakfast at Bob's weigh, the most amazing french toast you'll ever have (see photo's!). Also skyline gondola and surrounding views (it could be mistaken for parts of Scotland). Pamper day - manicure and Pedicure.
- Boat trip and kayaking through fiordland, Doubtful sound. Absolutely the most spectacular scenery and wildelife. We spotted some wild penguins, seals and dolphins and the food and staff were fab!
- Otago region where we stopped off at the river used in part of the filming of Lord of the rings. We also stopped off for a game of curling in New Zealand Olympic team stadium - it was awesome!! (as they say in this part of the world). We stayed in this small village of Naesby where we dinned, drank and playded darts with some of the locals it was great fun!
- Yesterday we cycled part of the old central Otago railway, 30k cycle so I'm feeling it a bit today. It was good fun although it was the weirdest experience cycling into a pitch black tunnel I nearly stacked it (fell over)as Donna my auzzie friend would say, as I got completely disorientated and drove into the wall instead of turning the corner!! - it was pretty funny!!!
- We had a great night out in Christchurch last night to celebrate the end of the tour. Ended up in an Irish bar of all places so I was teaching them some of our Irish/Scottish dancing we had a great laugh.
This weekend I'm staying in Hamilton in the North Island with my Mum's friend Christine. It is sooooo nice to have my own room, do some laundry and have a bath!!! So excitied about it all!! Great to have my own personal tour guide who lives and works in the area so getting to see what real life is like here too.
Heading to Auckland on monday night to prepare for my 6 day North highlights tour on tuesday morning, Itinerary for that looks fab!!
